BookFest Annual General Assembly
Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, November 5th, 2009 – BookFest, the Gaspé Peninsula and Magdalen Islands literary event, will be holding its annual general assembly on November 17th, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. at the Coopérative de solidarité VIVRED’ART at 154, boulevard Perron Ouest in New Richmond.
During the assembly, a report on the past year as well as a look ahead to 2010 will be presented. Three board of directors seats are up for election: bookseller, host town, and individual member.
BookFest is a non-profit organization that holds a great celebration of books every spring. There are three membership categories: corporate, individual, and associate. The goal is to give a boost to reading on the Gaspé Peninsula and the Magdalen Islands, by eliciting and organizing various activities in a festive atmosphere. In the spring of 2009, BookFest brought together 558 activities and 33,000 participants in 52 localities on the territory. It must be said that BookFest is indeed responding to people’s needs!
Interested organizations and individuals are invited to meet on Tuesday, November 17th, in New Richmond, for the annual general assembly of BookFest. All welcome!
